Helen’s work is inspired by the forms patterns and dynamics found in the natural world. Through the sensual handling of clay the process of growth, containment and disintegration is evoked. Each piece is individual, found objects including shells and leaves are used to create textures. Porcelain is used to produce delicate bowls, vases, candle-holders, lamps and teapots ‘with attitude!’ Larger forms are made from stoneware clay, including planters and fountains with textures reminiscent of cliffs & rockpools.
Helen is a member of two North Devon co-operative galleries, has work in other galleries in Devon, and in various exhibitions. She has taken part in the following events this year:

North Devon Arts SQUARE PICTURE SHOW EXHIBITION 5TH-30TH JUNE 2010. This was held in the Stables, Broomhill, Barnstaple Devon

THE WESTWARD HO! & BIDEFORD ART SOCIETY 88TH SUMMER EXHIBITION 10TH JULY TO 8TH AUGUST 2010. This was held at the Burton Art Gallery & Museum, Kingsley Road, Bideford Devon
