Welcombe Glass Art
Sue lives in North Devon where she creates fused glass art and flameworked beads from her studio in Barnstaple. She has trained with internationally acclaimed artists in workshops in Rochester, Leominster, Hazlemere, Shebbear and Corfe Castle to develop her glassmaking techniques.

Her initial inspiration is taken from the colours of the sea, preferring to use various shades of blue, green and azure. Using flat sheets of Bullseye fusible glass as the starting point, she produces spectacular dishes, bowls and tiles and also a range of dichroic and beaded jewellery.

Her background as a science teacher and, previously as a stained glass artist, has given her an understanding of the manufacture of glass and its properties, which in turn has enabled her to develop a product that she is proud to display.

Examples of Sue's fused glass art work can be seen at:
The Appledore Crafts Company Gallery

This year the gallery is celebrating its 20th birthday and each member, including Sue, has made a special piece for the exhibition which is held from May 28th to June 18th.

Further fused glass art, flameworked glass and silver jewellery made by Sue is displayed in the Art Coop at Gallery 39 in Barnstaple w:http://www.artcoopatg39.co.uk

In recent times she has started combining her work with lightweight, flexible nuno felt scarves. Her new website is http://www.feltnbeads.co.uk
