Sue has lived in North Devon with her husband since 1970 where she creates fused glassware and flameworked beads from her studio in Barnstaple. Initial inspiration is taken from the colours of the sea, preferring to use various shades of blue, green and azure. Using flat sheets of Bullseye fusible glass as the starting point, she produces spectacular dishes, bowls and tiles and also a range of dichroic and beaded jewellery.
Her background as a science teacher and, previously as a stained glass artist, has given her an understanding of the manufacture of glass and its properties, which in turn has enabled her to develop a product that she is proud to display.
Sue's work is also displayed in the Appledore Crafts Company Gallery (http://www.appledorecraftscompany.co.uk ) and the Art Coop at Gallery 39 in Barnstaple (http://www.artcoopatg39.co.uk). During the last three weekends in June she will be taking part in Art Trek at the Art Coop at Gallery 39.
