Cosmos by Janet Jopson

JANET JOPSON loves working with the technique of Batik and Lino-cut printmaking, which explore line, colour and texture. Her themes are local land and seascapes, flowers and animals. Her most recent work explores these elements through paint. She is making a series of paintings in acrylic that explore the sea’s surface. She wants to capture the sense of fluid movement and weather conditions around the North Devon coast.

SUE MAIR - Sue moved to North Devon to look after her father and decided to use some of her leisure time by enrolling on various courses. Having always been fascinated with the beauty of glass and light and being intrigued by the possibilities that arose from these courses, a certain amount of experimenting took place. She now creates many items incorporating tile and glass including mosaic picture frames, mirrors, bowls, garden ornaments and pictures as well as items in stained glass. Sue's work can also be seen in The Gallery @ 500 feet, Lynton and some of her work will also be shown in the Artists Garden Art Exhibition at RHS Rosemoor, Torrington from 9th to 25th September. She will be exhibiting at the Spring (30th April - 2nd May) and Christmas (26th & 27th November) Craft Fairs at RHS Rosemoor and other fairs throughout the year. She can be contacted on:

Ceramics by Alison Mobsby

ALISON MOBSBY -
Although originally coming from a graphic design/publishing background, Alison has been involved in ceramics since 1996, when she started her initial pottery classes held by Geoff Ambler. Since then she has attended several Art & Design courses and she has exhibited in various North Devon galleries since 2002. She is also a member of North Devon Arts. At present she is making non-functional vessels, where although form, space and integrity of line are her primary concerns, she endeavours to achieve an essence of the natural world around us, the tactile quality of a pebble on the beach or a suggestion of the delicate construction of a shell.
