Alison textile work

ALISON NICHOLSON uses fabric, paper, thread, wire and found objects to create collages and abstract forms that hint at the familiar. Her work is largely influenced by the sea attempting to convey its atmosphere and essence, with original work being seen at the Waterside Gallery in Instow, the Little Gallery, Bideford, the Quay Gift Shop in Appledore and Chapel Farm, Croyde.

She has held solo exhibitions at the Landmark Theatre, Ilfracombe and at the Queen’s Theatre, Barnstaple . Alison is Publicity Officer for North Devon Arts and an exhibiting member and secretary to the Westward Ho! & Bideford Art Society. She is also an associate of the Art Coop at Gallery 39 in Barnstaple and has recently completed a Degree in Fine Art resulting in experimentation with knitting, weaving and crocheting in 3D with wire and mono-filament.
